We are supposed to love the Lord our God with all our strength. In the Old Testament, the word used for “strength” here is most often translated as “very” or “much.” So, more than just, “love the Lord your God with all your muscles” this passage is saying to love God… a lot! We should get excited about God, which is pretty easy considering all He’s done for us! It’s a very good thing to be respectful before the Lord, but sometimes we just need to get up, dance, and shout praises to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Love the Lord your God with all your “muchness!”

Bible Verses:

  • Mark 12:30 – Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
  • Deuteronomy 6:5 – Love God with all your “muchness!”
  • Psalm 150:1-6 – Praise the Lord!
  • 2 Samuel 6:14-15 – David dances before the Lord.
  • 1 Corinthians 10:31 – Do everything for God’s glory.

Family Time Questions:

  • What does it mean to love God with all your strength or ‘muchness’?
  • Can you think of ways to show God excitement and joy in your everyday life?
  • Why is it sometimes good to be loud and energetic in our praise to God?
  • What’s your favorite way to express joy and love to God?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for who You are and what You do. You are incredible and we are in awe of You. We want to love You with all our ‘muchness!’ In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
