Douglas’ old house had a hole in the basement that he was sure led to a cave where monsters lived. He would never go to the basement if could help it because he was so afraid, and would sometimes even have trouble sleeping because of it. Eventually, when his family was going to move to a new house, they had to pack up the basement. Douglas discovered that what he thought was a hole was actually just a stain on the concrete! He had wasted so much time being scared, and it just turned out to be nothing!

Douglas decided from then on that whenever he was afraid, he was going to:

1. Tell God what was scaring him.

2. Trust that God is with him.

It doesn’t matter if you’re scared of something real, like talking in front of the class, or something silly, like a monster under the bed; if we put our trust in God, He will help us to be strong!
