You can’t explain everything there is to know about God in one short video (or any video for that matter!), but there is a lot that we know about what God is like. The Bible is filled with all kinds of information about who God is, what He’s like, what He cares about, etc. You could spend an eternity talking about what God is like and still not be done, but let’s talk about some of the things we know about what God is like!

Most of God’s attributes can be whittled down to two categories: God is Almighty and God is Good. The fact that God is Almighty means, among so many other things, that God is all-powerful (no one could beat Him in a fight), He knows everything, He’s always right, there’s nothing He isn’t strong enough to do, He never fails, and He’s the One True God. The fact that He’s Good means that He is just, He is loving, He is merciful, He never does anything wrong and He always does what’s right!

“What Is God Like?” Bible Verses:

  • Matthew 19:26 | God is almighty.
  • Jeremiah 32:17 | God spoke the universe into existence.
  • Psalm 145:9 | God is good.
  • Romans 3:23 | God is just.
  • Romans 5:8 | God is merciful.
  • Philippians 4:19 | God never fails.

“What Is God Like?” Family Time Questions:

What are some things about God that we weren’t able to mention in this video? (There are a lot!)

• What does it mean that God is Almighty?

What does it mean that God is Good?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for being Almighty and for being so Good. Help me to honor you with my life and to learn more and more about you every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
