God has given all of us the choice to believe whatever we want to believe. But that doesn’t mean that whatever we choose to believe is true, there are right and wrong answers, and we are responsible for our own beliefs. So, what do you choose to believe?

There will be a day when we won’t have a choice but to believe in God. When you’re face to face with your Creator on Judgement Day, there will be no room for doubt. But here and now, we get to choose what we will believe and how we will live. That choice is a gift from God, but it’s also a big responsibility. As kids, it’s easy for us to just go along with whatever our parents believe or whatever our friends or teachers believe. But, ultimately, we won’t be judged based on what others chose to believe, only what we choose to believe. And, if you are a Christian, it’s not your responsibility to “make” other people believe (you can’t) but it is your responsibility to share the Good News. From there, it’s up to them.

Bible Verses:

  • Revelation 3:20 | God gives us the choice to believe, or not to believe.
  • Revelation 21:27 | Unless your name is in the book of life, you can’t go to heaven.
  • John 3:36 | If you believe in Jesus, you have eternal life.
  • 1 Peter 3:15 | Be ready to give a defense for your faith to those who ask.
  • John 14:6 | Jesus is the only life-bringer.

Family Time Questions:

Who’s responsible for what you believe?

• Why is it so important to believe in Jesus?

• Is it your job to make people believe? What is your job?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for giving us the Bible, and thank you especially for saving me from my sins. Please help me to share my faith with those who need to hear the Gospel. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
