The Bible talks a lot about tribulation, especially when it’s talking about the end times. Tribulation means trouble, affliction, anguish, or persecution. And Jesus told us to expect tribulation. Things are already pretty bad for some Christians (It’s been like that from the beginning) but we should expect things to get even worse. However, no matter how bad things get, it will all be worth it. Tribulation brings sorrow, Jesus will turn our sorrow into joy.

Bible Verses:

  • Matthew 24:24:21 – Great Tribulation
  • Revelation 7:13-14 – The Great Tribulation
  • John 16:20-21 – So Worth It
  • John 16:33 – Tribulation in This World

Family Time Questions:

  • What does tribulation mean?
  • Is it dangerous to be a Christian where you live?
  • For how long have Christians been persecuted?
  • Should we expect things to get worse?
  • When Jesus returns, what will our sorrow turn into?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank you for your love for us, and that you are coming back for us one day. Help us to be patient and to be ready for your return. Give us the strength we need to face tribulation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
