The Virgin Birth is a little bit easier to explain to adults than it is to kids, but it’s still important to know! The birth of Jesus Christ was a miracle, and the simple explanation was that Mary gave birth to Jesus even though she had no husband or any other man. That shouldn’t be possible! But with God, all things are possible!

When the Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus, God proved that Jesus was really His Son. A woman needs a man to have a baby, and Mary had no man yet, so her Baby could only have come from God! In the Old Testament, there was a prophecy that the coming Messiah would be born to a virgin and that He would be called Immanuel (which means, God is with us). Let’s celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth!

“The Virgin Birth” Bible Verses:

  • Isaiah 7:14 | Isaiah foretold that a virgin would give birth to the Messiah.
  • Luke 1:27 | Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph.
  • Luke 1:28-35 | An angel told Mary she would give birth to God’s Son, Jesus.
  • Matthew 1:19 | Joseph thought Mary broke her promise to him and planned to send her away quietly.
  • Matthew 1:20-24 | An angel explained to Joseph that the miracle child was from God, so he shouldn’t be afraid to marry Mary.
  • John 3:16 | God sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins.
