The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. And your Bible is God’s Word! Just like a soldier needs to train with his sword, you need to train with your Bible. You can use your Bible as a powerful weapon, NOT against people, but against the spiritual forces of evil.
Armor protects you, but it’s with your sword that you can actually fight back! Satan is the father of lies, and the best way to fight against him is with the Truth found in Scripture. And it’s so important to know what the Word of God says because Satan loves to tell lies with a small amount of truth in them. Satan tempted Jesus by misusing Scripture, but because Jesus knew His Bible, He was able to fight back and stand up to temptation. Your Bible is an incredibly powerful weapon in the spiritual battle that we’re all in. But it won’t do you much good if you don’t know how to use it. So read your Bible and learn what it says so that you can take your stand against the Devil’s schemes.
