Jesus wants to save us, and He is mighty to save! But we get to make our own choices. We can choose whether or not we’re going to follow Him and we can choose whether or not we will let Him save us. Just like a lifeguard would always jump in the pool to save you if you were drowning (even if you were doing something they told you not to do!), Jesus died to save you from your sins (no matter how badly you’ve messed up!). And just like it’s a terrible idea to disobey the rules at the pool even if you are confident the lifeguard can rescue you, the fact that Jesus can save you from all your sins doesn’t mean that it’s OK (or a good idea at all!) to sin! Jesus Christ is our Lord, our, Rescuer, our Redeemer, and our Savior. Let’s believe in Him for salvation and obey His commands!

Bible Verses:

  • Isaiah 59:2 | Sin separates us from God.
  • Romans 5:6| There is nothing we can do to save ourselves.
  • John 3:16 | Whoever believes in Jesus will not perish.
  • Romans 5:8-10 | Christ died for us while we were His enemies.
  • Joshua 1:8 | God’s rules are for our good.
  • Hebrews 11:6 | Believe Him.
  • John 14:15 | Obey Him.

Family Time Questions:

  • Can Jesus save you from your sins?
  • Why does God want us to obey Him?
  • Will Jesus still save you if you are a sinner?
  • Why should we obey God?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for saving me from my sins. Please help me to listen and obey. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
