Douglas recently went to a the coolest birthday party ever. He got to sleep over at an aquarium! He made sure to pack everything he needed: sleeping bag, flashlight, pillow, snacks, etc. It was a great party. But when it came time for his friend to open presents, Douglas realized he left his birthday present at home! We have so much going on in life that it’s hard to keep track of everything, and we often forget about the MOST IMPORTANT THING, and that is the good news of Jesus Christ. God gave us an amazing gift, and that gift is for sharing!

It’s really easy to forget about Jesus, and it’s especially easy to forget about telling others about Jesus. But we have the BEST NEWS EVER, and that is that Jesus Christ came to the world to save us from our sins. That’s something that everyone needs to hear. The whole world needs to know about God’s love for us. So today as you’re planning your busy day, don’t forget to tell others about Jesus, and show his love to everyone you meet!

“The Greatest Gift” Bible Verses:

  • Matthew 28:19-20 | The Great Commission
  • Mark 16:15 | “preach the gospel to all creation.”
  • Isaiah 12:4 | “make known among the nations what he has done”
  • John 3:16 | “He gave his one and only Son”
  • 2 Corinthians 9:15 | “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”

“The Greatest Gift” Family Time Questions:

  • What is the Good News about Jesus Christ?
  • Why is it sometimes hard to share the Good News with people?
  • Why shouldn’t we let that stop us from telling people about Jesus?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for the Gift of Your Son, Jesus. Help me to always remember to share the Good News of the Greatest Gift ever! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
