Robots do exactly what they’re programmed to do. If you designed a program that caused a robot to say, “Yes master” if you asked it to be your friend, would it really be your friend? You and I have the ability to choose to do whatever we want, there will be consequences for our actions, but in the end, the choice belongs to us. God gives us the choice to do what is right or to do what is wrong because He wants to have a real relationship with us. Let’s choose to follow God!

Bible Verses About Our Choices:

  • Genesis 2:16-17 | The choice God gave Adam
  • Acts 17:24-28 | God wants us to choose Him
  • Galatians 5:16-17 | Choose The Spirit and not the flesh
  • 1 Corinthians 10:15 | You can resist temptation

Family Time Questions About Our Choices:

• Can you choose right from wrong?

• Why does God let you make bad decisions?

• What’s an example of a good decision?

• What are some ways that you can make better choices?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for giving me a choice. Help me to choose what is right and to follow you with all my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
