Have you ever thought about how amazing your Bible is? The Bible is God’s Word! How cool is that??? Douglas once got to see a letter that was actually written by Abraham Lincoln (one of the most influential presidents of the United States). And he was amazed to think that he was looking at a piece of history, something written by someone incredibly famous. But that wasn’t nearly as amazing as what Douglas realized when he got home.

When Douglas sat down to read his Bible that night, he realized that what he was holding in his hands was WAY MORE amazing than the letter he got to see at the museum. The Bible says that all Scripture is God-breathed, and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. That means that everything in your Bible is incredibly important.  So, when you read your Bible, you are reading the very words of God!

“The Bible Is God’s Word” Bible Verses:

  • John 17:17 | The Bible is true.
  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 | All Scripture is God-breathed.
  • 2 Peter 1:21 | God’s Spirit guided the men who wrote the Bible.
  • Joshua 1:8 | Read God’s Word every day and think about it!

“The Bible Is God’s Word” Family Time Questions:

  • What does it mean when the Bible says that all Scripture is “God-breathed”?
  • Are there any parts of the Bible that aren’t important?
  • Why is it a good idea to read your Bible for yourself?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for the Bible. Help me to remember how important it is, and to read it for myself as often as I can. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
