Many end-times prophecies refer to a terrible man who will come and lead the world in a war against God. He’s referred to by many names: the antichrist, the beast, the man of lawlessness, the abomination of desolation, and more. When people think about the antichrist, they often picture someone who is obviously evil. But the antichrist might look like a hero (or, a savior) to God’s people and “deceive, if possible, even the elect.” We need to be very careful about people who say that they are here to save us or fix the world, we need to be very careful of false christs. There’s only one Christ, only one Savior of the world, and that’s Jesus Christ. Do not be tricked by the antichrist.

Bible Verses:

  • 1 John 2:18-19 – The Antichrist
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 – The Man of Lawlessness
  • Matthew 24:15-27 – The Abomination of Desolation

Family Time Questions:

  • What does “Christ” mean? (and who is the Christ?)
  • What are some bad things that the antichrist will do?
  • Why is it so important to not follow the antichrist?
  • What do you think Jesus meant when He said to watch out for false christs?
  • What should we do to get the world ready for Jesus’ return?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank you for sending us Jesus, the one true Christ. Help us to be strong and not follow false christs but wait patiently for Jesus’ return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
