It can be so easy to get mad when we get into an argument. Anger and pride are so hard to avoid when we’re arguing with someone, even if we’re arguing about something silly! God does want us to stand up for what’s right, but He wants us to do it the right way. If you are standing up for what’s right, but you’re doing it in a hateful way, then you’re not doing it God’s way. Satan wants us to be hateful, hurtful, and mean. God wants us to speak the truth in love.

Bible Verses About Arguments:

  • Ephesians 4:15 | “…speaking the truth in love…
  • Romans 12:21 | “…overcome evil with good…”
  • 1 Peter 3:15 | “Always be prepared to give and answer…”
  • 2 Timothy 2:23-24 | Avoid foolish arguments

Family Time Questions About Arguments:

• Is there a right way and a wrong way to argue?

•How does Satan want you to argue?

• How does God want you to argue (if you call it arguing)?

• What’s an example of something that isn’t important to stand up for?

• What’s an example of something you should stand up for?

Prayer:

Dear God, help me to stand up for what is right and to show your love to everyone I meet. Help me to honor you in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
