We’re often taught that if you share, other people will share with you too. Or maybe you were told to share because that’s a good way to make friends. Or maybe the reason you were given was, “Because I told you so.” It might be that none of these reasons to share are wrong, but the very best reason to share is because when we share, we are showing God that we love Him! And, we’re usually not supposed to test God, but He says that we should test Him by giving. So, offer God a sacrifice of sharing, you won’t be disappointed!

Bible Verses:

  • Hebrews 13:16 | Sacrifice of sharing.
  • Malachi 3:10 | Test God.
  • Luke 3:11 | Share what you have.
  • Proverbs 19:17 | Lending to the Lord by helping the poor.
  • 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 | God loves a cheerful giver.

Family Time Questions:

  • Why do you think sharing with others shows God that we love Him?
  • Can you think of a time when you shared something and it made both you and the other person happy?
  • How does it make you feel when someone shares with you?
  • What are some things we can share with others that might not be physical objects?
  • How can sharing be a form of worship or sacrifice to God?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for all the things You’ve given us. Help us to have generous hearts that want to share with others. We want to show You our love by being kind and sharing, just like Jesus taught us. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
