Jesus came to earth and lived a perfect life. Then He died for our sins and rose again. After that, He ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us. And one day He’s coming back for us! Know one knows when He’s coming back, but we should be ready for that day. If we are ready (that is, we’ve been doing what He told us to do), it will be an awesome day, if not, then it will be a terrible day. We need to be ready for Jesus’ return!

Bible Verses About Being Ready for Jesus’ Return:

  • John 3:16 | Jesus died for us so we can live with Him forever.
  • John 14:2-3 | Jesus is preparing a place for us in Heaven.
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 | Jesus is coming back for us.
  • Matthew 24:36 | No one knows when Jesus will come again.
  • Matthew 22:36-39 | God gave us two things to do.
  • John 14:15 | Do what He’s called us to.
  • Matthew 25:21 | Seek to hear Jesus say, “Well done.”

Family Time Questions About Being Ready for Jesus’ Return:

• Where did Jesus go after He rose again from the dead?

• When is Jesus coming back?

• Will that day be a good day or a bad day?

• What should we be doing while we wait for Jesus’ return?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for saving me from my sins. Please help me to honor you as I wait for Christ’s return. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
