It might seem like everything is out of control right now, but God has a plan for all of this. It’s really easy for us to feel scared or overwhelmed when we’re surprised. But God knows everything. He knows everything that’s ever happened and everything that ever will happen. Nothing surprises God! He’s never surprised, He has a plan for everything, and nothing can stop His plan. God’s Got everything under control.

When we start to feel overwhelmed by all of the stuff happening in our lives, it can be comforting to remember that God has a plan (a really good one!) and that He is working everything together for the good of those who love Him. And one day, He will make all things new. Everything will be set right. All of the bad stuff that happens in this world is because of the sin of mankind, but even in the midst of all the nastiness, God is in control!

“Nothing Surprises God” Bible Verses:

  • Sin entered the world with Adam and Eve’s choice. | Romans 5:12
  • God has a good plan. | Jeremiah 29:11
  • God is in control. | Romans 8:28
  • God will make all things new. | Revelation 21:5
  • We can be at peace, knowing God’s got this. | John 16:33

“Nothing Surprises God” Family Time Questions:

  • Why do we get scared?
  • Why isn’t God scared of anything?
  • Do we always know what God’s plan is?
  • How can we know that God’s plan is a good plan?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for your plan. Help me to remember that you are in control, even when things seem scary. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
