It might feel like you are too far gone, but it’s never too late for new beginnings. Some people who have never put their faith in Jesus believe that they have done too much for God to ever love or forgive them. And some people who have believed in Jesus have messed up and they think that they’ve done too much for Him to forgive them again. But the truth is that there’s nothing that you can do that is bigger than God’s love for you. It’s never too late to ask for forgiveness and try again.
The Bible is filled with stories of people who did terrible things, but then God gave them a fresh start (or many fresh starts!). King David, who was described in Scripture as “a man after God’s own heart,” had a man killed so that he could steal his wife. And the Apostle Paul, who ended up writing a very large chunk of the New Testament, used to hunt down Christians and throw them in prison. There’s nothing that you can do that is too big or too bad for God to forgive you. The blood of Jesus Christ is enough to cover any past or future sins. If you believe in Jesus Christ to save you from your sin, He will!

“New Beginnings” Bible Verses:

  • Romans 3:23 | All people have sinned. Every one.
  • Romans 5:8 | Jesus died to save us sinners.
  • Romans 8:38-39 | Nothing can separate us from God’s love.
  • Luke 15:11-32 | Even when we mess up, God still loves us.
  • Hebrews 12:1 | Keep on seeking God’s way.

“New Beginnings” Family Time Questions:

Is there anything that you can do that will make God stop loving you?

• Is there anything the blood of Jesus Christ is not strong enough to cover up?

What should you do when you mess up?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for sending us your Son, Jesus to save me from my sins. Help me to honor you with my life. And when I mess up, help me to get back up and try again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
