Mother’s Day is a day when we can thank our moms (and the other godly women in our lives) for all they have done for us. Let’s look for opportunities to show the awesome women in our lives how grateful we are for them!
Every single one of us is alive today because of the sacrifices and hard work of the woman who gave birth to us. Childbirth is no walk in the park! But the really hard part comes with actually raising kids. Mother’s Day can be a hard day for many people. Some people have never met their mother, some don’t have a mother who shows them God’s love like they should, and some people had an amazing mother but she’s in heaven now. It can also be a sad day for some women because not everyone can have their own kids, and some mothers have lost their children. But Mother’s day doesn’t just have to be a day to celebrate the woman who gave birth to us, we can celebrate ALL the women that God has placed in our lives to help nurture us and help raise us in faith in Jesus Christ!

Bible Verses:

  • Proverbs 1:8-9 | Moms nurture and teach us.
  • Exodus 2:1-10 | Moses’ mother saved him from Pharaoh.
  • 2 Timothy 1:5 | Timothy’s mother and grandmother taught him God’s word.
  • 1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 | Mothers comfort us.
  • Acts 9:36-42 | The story of the godly woman Tabitha.

Family Time Questions:

What are some great things that your mother has done for you?

• Who are some other godly women in your life besides your mom?

• What are some ways that you can thank your mom and the other godly women in your life this Mother’s Day?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for my mother and all the godly women who have been such a blessing to me. Help me to look for ways to thank them for all they’ve done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
