What does God want for Valentine’s Day? Or, a better question might be, “How can we show God that we love Him?” The Bible says that love for God looks like following His commands. The things that God tells us to do or not do are for our own good and the good of those around us. Let’s show God that we love Him by following His commands.

Bible Verses:

  • 1 John 5:3 | Love for God means to obey Him.
  • Colossians 3:23 | We should do our best for the Lord.
  • Matthew 22:37-39 | The two greatest commandments summed up.
  • John 3:16 | God gave His only Son out of His love for us.
  • John 14:15 | Jesus says if we love Him we’ll obey Him.

Family Time Questions:

• What sorts of things can we get for people or do for people to show them that we love them?

• What can we do for God to show Him that we love Him?

• Why does God give us the commands that He gives us?

• Who gets hurt if we don’t follow God’s commands?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for your incredible love for me. Please help me to show you how much I love you by following your commands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
