When you are a kid, being called “kid” is pretty much the worst insult ever. No kid wants you to shine a light on the fact they aren’t an adult yet. We get this idea that unless you are an adult, you aren’t important and you don’t matter. It’s like childhood is just practice for the real thing and life starts after you graduate high school. But that’s not true! Kids are very important and kids can do big things. Jesus said that unless you have faith like a child you can never enter the kingdom of God. So not only are adults not more important than kids, but adults can even learn from kids! If you are a kid, you should know that you can do big things and you don’t have to wait to be an adult to start!

Bible Verses:

  • Mark 10:13-16 | “Let the little children come to me”
  • Matthew 18:2-6 | Adults can learn from kids
  • Mark 9:36-37 | Welcoming children is welcoming Jesus
  • 1 Timothy 4:12 | “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young”

Family Time Questions:

  • Who’s more important, kids or adults?
  • What things can kids teach adults?
  • What are some big things that you can do right now for the kingdom of God?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for loving kids. Please help me to follow you with all my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
