Douglas’ grandpa made a beautiful house for his grandma when they got married a long, long time ago. He made the house just how she would like it, and it still serves as a beautiful example of his love for her. Douglas’ grandparents’ house reminds him of how Jesus is building us mansions in heaven right now, and that everyone who believes in Jesus will get to live with God in heaven forever and ever.

If you believe in Jesus, you will have eternal life. Jesus died for your sins so that you could escape the punishment that you deserve. After Jesus died and rose from the dead He rose up into heaven. That’s where He is right now, getting everything ready for us. And one day He will return to take us to be with Him where He is in heaven. What an incredible gift! And it’s not a gift that we can earn and it’s not something we deserve, eternal life is a free gift from God given to all who believe in Jesus Christ.

  • John 14:1-3 | Jesus is preparing a place for us
  • 1 Peter 1:3 | Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Family Time Questions:

• If you could build the house of your dreams, what would it look like?

• What is Jesus doing right now?

• Is Jesus building mansions in heaven for everyone in the whole world?

• Who can you talk to about believing in Jesus?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die for us. And thank you that everyone who believes in you can live forever with you in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
