When you mess up, are you afraid of God or do you want to go to Him for help and forgiveness? Our God is kind and merciful and He wants to share His gift of grace with you. God always forgives. The truth is, everyone messes up, we all sin. And there’s nothing we can do to cover up our sin or to hide it from God, it’s only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. And He wants to save us!
Sometimes we end up feeling like we’re beyond saving, as though God could never forgive us. But that’s never true. The people that Jesus was most angry at in the New Testament were the people who tried to pretend that they were without sin and that they didn’t need forgiveness. You can’t hide from God. But when you come to Him with your sin and ask His forgiveness, He will always forgive you. It doesn’t matter how bad your sin is, sin is sin, and we all need forgiveness. God is waiting for you with open arms. Jesus didn’t die for perfect people, He died for YOU!

“God Always Forgives” Bible Verses:

  • Romans 3:23 | Everyone sins.
  • 1 John 1:8 | If you think you don’t sin, you’re mistaken.
  • Genesis 3:6-11 | Adam and Eve hid from God when they sinned.
  • 1 John 1:9 | If we confess, God will forgive our sin.
  • Romans 6:23 | God paid for our sin with Jesus’ blood.

“God Always Forgives” Family Time Questions:

Can we hide our sin from God?

• Why do people try to pretend that they are perfect?

Why should we ask God for forgiveness?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for your mercy and grace. Please help me to come to you whenever I fail, instead of trying to hide from you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
