Faith and hope are incredibly important, but love is greater than both! Very few things last forever, our possessions are not permanent, they can be taken away, lost, broken, or destroyed. Only faith, hope, and love remain. However, even faith and hope will one day pass away. We won’t need faith (believing in what we can’t see) or hope (believing in what hasn’t happened yet) when we get to heaven because we’ll see Jesus face to face. But love will last for all eternity!

The benefits of love can be enjoyed both in heaven and here on earth. When we love the way God wants us to, we’re able to get a glimpse of what heaven will be like. And we can share that with others! These three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love!

“Faith, Hope, and Love” Bible Verses:

  • 1 Corinthians 13:13 | The greatest is love.
  • 1 Corinthians 13:12 | We’ll understand everything someday.
  • 1 Timothy 6:7 | We can’t take our stuff with us to heaven.
  • Hebrews 11:1 | Faith is believing what you can’t see.
  • Romans 8:24-25 | Hope is believing something that hasn’t happened yet.
  • 1 John 4:7 | Love one another.

“Faith, Hope, and Love” Family Time Questions:

• What is faith?

• What is hope?

• Why will even faith and hope pass away?

• How can we share a little taste of heaven with others?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for your incredible love for me and for the whole world. Please help me to share your love with others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
