It can sometimes be encouraging to know how unlikely it is that certain bad things will happen to you. But, even if the chances of those scary things happening are super low, they can still be scary! If you believe in Jesus, however, you can find comfort in knowing that your story has a happy ending no matter what happens.

Douglas’ family had to go to the basement to take shelter from a tornado. Even though the chances of a tornado hitting his house are super low, Douglas’ family still takes precautions and it still scares Douglas. At least, it used to scare Douglas. After realizing that, no matter what happens in this life, the story of Douglas’ life has a very happy ending (an eternity with Jesus), he’s not so scared anymore. It’s like a movie or a good book, hard things can happen in the middle, but it’s all ok if it has a happy ending. If you believe in Jesus, you will have eternal life, and God will make everything new and happy and perfect for you. So, even if the worst should happen (which it probably won’t!), everything is going to be alright.

“Everything Is Going to Be Alright” Bible Verses:

  • John 3:16 | If you believe in Jesus, you’ll have eternal life.
  • John 5:24 | Jesus teaches about eternal life.
  • Deuteronomy 31:8 | In hard times, remember God is with you..
  • Romans 8:37-39 | Nothing can separate us from God.
  • John 16:33 | Everything will be alright.

Everything Is Going to Be Alright” Family Time Questions:

  • What are some scary things that will probably never happen to you?
  • Why are those things still scary, even though they’re very unlikely?
  • Why will everything be alright for believers, even if the worst should happen?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for always looking out for me. I know that you are in control no matter what happens and everything is going to be alright. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
