If you believe in Jesus Christ, you will have eternal life. And that means a life with God that is never-ending. That’s easy to say but hard to understand. We have such a limited experience and such a short time on earth. We can barely even imagine what it will be like to have lived with God in heaven for a trillion trillion years, and still have an eternity beyond that! It may be difficult, but it’s a very good idea to think about eternity. An eternal perspective can give us hope in the midst of our earthly struggles and inspire us to live well as we look forward to eternal rewards!

Bible Verses:

  • Revelation 22:12 – Christ’s swift return and reward.
  • Isaiah 65:17 – God creates a new heaven and earth.
  • 2 Peter 3:13 – Awaiting new heavens and a new earth.
  • John 14:2-3 – Jesus prepares a place for us.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:9 – What God has prepared for us.

Family Time Questions:

  • What does it mean to have eternal life with God?
  • Why is it hard for us to understand eternity?
  • How can thinking about eternity give us hope during difficult times?
  • How should the promise of eternity with God affect how we live today?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for the promise of eternity with You. Help us to grasp what it means to live forever in Your presence and to let this hope inspire us every day. Guide us to live in ways that honor You, looking forward to the eternal life You have promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
