The eighth commandment of the Ten Commandments says, “You shall not steal.” One great way to avoid stealing is to be grateful for what you have.

God doesn’t want us to steal. Stealing is when we take something that doesn’t belong to us. Everything that we have is from God, and that goes for everybody, so if we steal something from someone else, then we’re stealing something that God gave them. That’s a bad idea! God wants us to be grateful for what we have, and not worry so much about what other people have. When we’re grateful for what we have, that can lead us to do the opposite of steal, which is to give! Let’s all do our best to follow the eighth commandment!
