Pretending that nothing’s wrong is a pretty terrible way to fix our problems. When we do something that’s wrong, we need to own up to it. Pretending that we are without sin or that our sin isn’t so bad just leads to more and more problems. But the Bible says that Jesus came to save us from our sins. He can help with not only the eternal consequences of our sins, but He can also help us to overcome those sins! But it all starts with acknowledging that we need His help. We need to confess our sins to God. When we do, we will find help and forgiveness.

Bible Verses About About Confessing Your Sins:

  • Proverbs 12:15 | A wise person listens to advice.
  • Proverbs 14:12 | Not all of our ideas are good ideas…
  • 1 Corinthians 15:33 | Choose carefully the friends you take advice from.
  • Proverbs 13:20 | Have good friends to advise you.
  • Proverbs 1:8 | Get instruction from your parents.
  • Proverbs 19:20-21 | Hear advice and accept instruction.

Family Time Questions About Confessing Your Sins:

• Do you ever sin?

• Who needs to confess their sins?

• Why is it so important to confess our sins?

• Will God get mad if we confess our sins to Him? (What if it’s a really bad sin?)

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins. Please help me to not try to hide my sins but to confess them and ask for your help. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
