Some Christmas movies say that Christmas is all about spending time with the ones you love. Spending time with family is great, but it’s not what Christmas is all about. Christmas is all about the birth of God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

Christmas is all about Jesus, but spending time with family can help us to remember that. In fact, the Bible says that if we believe in Jesus, then we are a part of God’s family. That means that all of us who believe in Jesus are a part of the same family. So “Family Christmas” can include not only the people we’re related to (like our parents and cousins and grandparents) but everyone who believes in Jesus! And God wants everyone to believe and become a part of God’s family, so it’s important for us to share “Family Christmas” with everyone. Many people have a hard time during the Christmas season. Let’s work together to share the love of Jesus with everyone we meet the Christmas, especially those who don’t know that God wants them to be a part of His family. Let’s make this Christmas the best “Family Christmas” ever!

“Christmas with Family” Bible Verses:

• Luke 1:26-38 | Mary told about Jesus’ birth

• Matthew 1:18-24 | Joseph told about Jesus’ birth

• Luke 2:1-21 | The birth of Jesus

• Matthew 2:1-12 | The wise men

• John 1:12 | Believe in Jesus to become a child of God.

• Ephesians 1:5 | God has adopted us into His family.

“Christmas with Family” Family Time Questions:

  • Is spending Christmas with your loved ones what Christmas is all about?
  • What is Christmas all about?
  • How can we make this Christmas the best “Family Christmas” ever?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for the Gift of your Son, Jesus, and for making me a part of your family. Help me to remember what the Christmas season is all about and to share the Good News of Jesus with everyone I meet. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
