Following God isn’t always easy. There are times where the things that God asks us to do are downright scary. Living the life that God has called us to will require bravery. But, even though it might be hard, it’s SO worth it! And God would love to be there with you every step of the way.

Most of us really like to be comfortable. We don’t like it when things change, we like to do things the easy way, and we don’t want to do something if we know it won’t be fun. Douglas wanted to keep the training wheels on his bike because he knew that if he kept them on he wouldn’t ever tip over. But because of his training wheels, he was never really able to keep up with his friends. His dad took the training wheels off and it was scary at first, but eventually, Douglas learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. Now he can keep up with his friends! Without some of the hard or scary things that God sends our way, we could never live the AWESOME life that He has called us to. Let’s live lives of bravery and live the lives God has planned for us.

Bravery Bible Verses:

  • Joshua 1:9 | Be strong and courageous
  • Proverbs 3:5-6 | Trust in the Lord with all your heart
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 | The Spirit of God does not make us timid
  • Luke 21:19 | Stand firm

Bravery Family Time Questions:

  • What are some difficult things God might ask you to do?
  • Can you think of some examples of people in the bible who had to do something scary?
  • Why should we be brave and do what God has called us to do?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for always looking out for me. Help me to live a life of bravery and do the hard things that you have called me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
