Everyone seems to love a good fight, but Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Anyone can start a fight, but it takes real courage to make peace. People might not be as entertained by you if you avoid fights when you can, but God is proud of peacemakers, so we should always do our best to bing a peaceful end to fights instead of a violent one.

Bible Verses About Being a Peacemaker:

  • Matthew 5:9 | Blessed Are the Peacemakers
  • Romans 14:19 | Live in peace
  • Romans 12:18 | …as far as it depends on you…
  • Proverbs 16:32 | Better a patient man than a warrior

Family Time Questions About Being a Peacemaker:

• Why do people seem to like to watch a “good” fight?

• What’s better than winning a fight?

• Are there ever times that we should fight?

• What does it look like to be a peacemaker?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for always being there for me. Help me to bring peace wherever I go and to be a peacemaker. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
