One of the many reasons you can trust the Bible is because archeology has proven time and time again that Biblical history is accurate history. The Bible is the most important historical document of all time; no other document has been so attacked and no other document has been so proven true.

Many people do not want the Bible to really be what it claims to be, the inspired word of God. If the Bible is true, then there is a God (many want to believe that there is no God at all), He’s the One True God (many people want to believe in other gods), and He decides what is right and wrong (most people don’t like to be told what they should or should not do). For centuries people have been trying to “prove” that what the Bible says isn’t true. One of those ways has been to challenge the Bible’s historical accuracy, but it’s been proven SO MANY TIMES that what the Bible says happened, actually happened. You can trust the Bible because it has proven itself to be reliable.

Bible Verses:

  • John 17:17 | The Bible tells us it is true.
  • 2 Timothy 3:16 | Scripture is breathed out by God.
  • Acts 13:22 | The Bible teaches about King David.
  • Joshua 1:4 | Hittites are described in the Bible.
  • John 18:28-38 | The Bible tells us about Pilate and Jesus.
  • Psalm 118:8 | Trust in God!

Family Time Questions:

What should you do if people tell you that the Bible has been disproven by archaeology?

• Why can we trust what the Bible says about “boring”, historical things?

• Why can we trust what the Bible says about miraculous things?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for giving us the Bible. Thank you for giving us evidence for the accuracy of Scripture outside of the Bible, and please help us to stand in the truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
