Dressing in costumes can be fun, but the masks we wear every day are not so fun. Every day it seems like we put on a mask and try to hide who we really are. But God wants us to be who we really are, to be ourselves, to be who God has called us to be. If you pretend to be better than you really are or believe that you are worse than you really are, bad things can happen. Find out who God says you are and then be that person!

Bible Verses About Being Yourself:

  • Genesis 1:27 | You are made in the image of God
  • Romans 5:8 | You are loved
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9 | You are weak and need God
  • Joshua 1:9 | You can be strong
  • Ephesians 1:7 | You can be forgiven

Family Time Questions About Being Yourself:

• Why do you think it’s fun to pretend to be someone else?

• Why is it a bad thing to pretend that you are better than you really are?

• Why is it a bad thing to believe that you are worse than you really are?

• What are some things God says about who you are?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for being who you are. Help me to remember who you say I am. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
