Jesus didn’t die for you because you were “good enough” He died for you because you weren’t! If you believe in Jesus Christ to save you from your sins, you will be accepted by God no matter who you are or what you’ve done.

People often think that they need to earn God’s love and forgiveness, but that’s not how it works. The penalty of sin is death, and we’ve all sinned. And it doesn’t matter how much good you do, you can’t erase the sins you’ve committed. But God showed His incredible love for us in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He accepts you as you are, but He also wants to help make you holy, like He is. God never says that sin is OK, but He died to save sinners so that we can become what we were always meant to be. Only God is perfect (even the best of us don’t even come close!) but thanks be to Jesus Christ for being our Salvation.

“Accepted by God” Bible Verses:

  • Jeremiah 31:3 | God loves us with a forever love.
  • Ecclesiastes 7:20 | Everyone has sinned.
  • Romans 5:8 | Jesus died for us while we were still sinners.
  • Ephesians 2:4-5 | God knows our sin but accepts us because of Jesus.
  • Romans 8:38-39 | Nothing can separate us from God’s love.

“Accepted by God” Family Time Questions:

 Can we earn God’s forgiveness?

• How can your sins be forgiven by God?

What kinds of people does God accept into His family?

What kinds of people does God NOT accept into His family?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you so much for salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ! Thank you for accepting me, a sinner, into your family. Help me to leave my sins behind and to be more and more like you every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
