Douglas went to a rodeo and one of the most impressive things he saw there was the bull riding. They have a man sit on a bull, and then they let the bull run around and the man has to stay on for 8 seconds. And that is a VERY LONG 8 seconds. Many bull riders were thrown off in just a couple of seconds. These bulls were very powerful and a little scary. But The Bible says that our tongues are even more powerful than that! If we misuse our words, we can very seriously hurt other people, and even ourselves! God wants us to use our words to build others up, and not tear them down. But that can be so hard! Even harder than hanging onto a raging bull for 8 seconds. But with God’s help, we can heal people with our words and not hurt them.
