The Bible is great at showing us where we are wrong. That’s what it means to rebuke. We all have things in our life that we believe are right, but they are wrong. Things that we think are good, but are bad. Things that we think are true, but are untrue. Just because you are sure of something, that doesn’t mean that you are right. The fact that you are an imperfect human means that you can be wrong. God’s word, however, is never wrong.

We need to read our Bibles all the time, not just when we are looking for the answer to a question. You don’t know what you don’t know, and there are many things that you think you know, but you really don’t! When we read God’s word, He will help us to really know what is right. The whole Bible is useful for rebuking.

“The Whole Bible Is Useful for Rebuking” Bible Verses:

  • 2 Timothy 3:16 | The whole Bible is inspired by God.
  • John 17:17 | The Bible is truth.
  • Numbers 23:19 | God never lies.
  • Psalm 119:105 | Read your Bible.
  • Matthew 7:3-5 | Rebuke yourself first before correcting others.

“The Whole Bible Is Useful for Rebuking” Family Time Questions:

• What does it mean to rebuke?

• Can you tell us something that you’re wrong about? (Trick question!)

• Why is it so important to read our Bibles all the time?

• What should we do if we find something in the Bible that goes against something we believe?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank you for giving us the Bible. Please help me to read it all the time and learn where I am wrong. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
