Getting into arguments is not usually a great way to prove the existence of God. The Bible says that everyone already has all the worldly evidence that we need to believe in God, but our sinfulness suppresses the truth. It often doesn’t matter how much evidence you bring, how logical your argument is, or how well you can explain things, that’s really just bringing more of what unbelievers are already ignoring. But, when people see the fruit of the Spirit in your life, that makes a real difference. Arguments are a lot easier to ignore than genuine encounters with God. Living in the Spirit and the power of God is the best proof of God we could ever share.
Bible Verses:
- 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 – Not the wisdom of men but the power of God.
- Romans 1:20 – God’s invisible attributes
- Galatians 5:22-23 – Fruit of the Spirit
- Matthew 5:16 – Let your light shine
- 1 Peter 3:15 – Giving a defense for your faith
Family Time Questions:
- Why might arguments not always be the best way to show someone proof of God?
- Is there anyone who doesn’t have enough worldly evidence to believe in God?
- What are the ‘fruit of the Spirit’, and how can they show others about God?
- Will there ever be a time when people won’t have a choice but to believe in Jesus?
Prayer:
“Dear God, help us to live in Your Spirit and show Your love to others through our actions. May our lives be a powerful testimony of Your grace and truth. Give us the courage to shine Your light in the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
