Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” There are so many men and women who put their lives on the line for us: soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and more. They set such an amazing example for us to follow. But an even better example of personal sacrifice is Jesus Christ himself, because of his sacrifice, we all have the opportunity to live with him forever and ever. Let’s follow these powerful examples and put the needs of others before our own.

- Romans 12:10 | Honor others more than yourselves.

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for the incredible sacrifice you made for us. And thank you for the men and women who have also made sacrifices for us. Help me to follow your example and theirs to put the needs of others before my own. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
