As Christians, we are blessed beyond measure. Through the free gift of Jesus Christ, because of His sacrifice, we can have life in His name. But there is nothing we can do to earn this gift; we don’t deserve it. It is only by grace that we have been saved through faith in Jesus. If we are not careful, we as Christians can start to feel like we are better than unbelievers, that we somehow deserve God’s grace and they do not. We are no better than anyone. Christ is above all, but we are not. The blessings we enjoy (and there are a lot of them!) are offered to everyone. Instead of looking down on others, let’s share the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone we meet, so that they can enjoy God’s blessings too!
Bible Verses:
- Luke 18:9-14 – The Pharisee and the tax collector
- Romans 3:23 – All fall short
- Ephesians 2:8-9 – Gift of grace
- 1 Timothy 1:15 – The worst sinner
Family Time Questions:
- Why shouldn’t Christians look down on anyone?
- What should we do instead?
- Is anything or anyone better than Jesus?
- What is the good news of Jesus Christ?
Prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for Your incredible love for us. Please help us to never look down on anyone, but instead, share the good news of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
