Loving your family can be really tough sometimes, especially if you’ve been cooped up with them for a long time! But when God says that we need to love our “neighbor” He’s not just talking about showing love to the people who live in our neighborhood, or even people on the other side of the world, He means our families too! God gave us our families to help us through tough times, but he also gave US to our families to help THEM through hard times. It’s good to share the love of Jesus with the people in our neighborhood, the kids at our school, and even people on the other side of the world! But we should never forget to share God’s love with our families. Families are very special. So let’s look for ways this week to show love to our families! (Even if they can drive us crazy sometimes!)
“Loving Your Family” Bible Verses:
- Mark 12:30-31 | Love God and other people.
- 1 John 4:20 | Love your brother.
- Colossians 3:13 | God calls us to forgive one another.
- Proverbs 17:17 | Brothers help each other through hard times.
“Loving Your Family” Family Time Questions:
- Why do you think it can be so hard to love our families?
- What are some ways that you can show your family God’s love?
- What does “…a brother is born for adversity” mean?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for your love for me and for my family. Help me to show your love to my family, even when they drive me a little crazy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
