God loves you no matter what. His love endures all things. That’s a hard truth to wrap our minds around because it’s hard for us to love like that! It’s really easy to love people if they do what we want. It’s much more difficult to have unconditional love. God doesn’t only love you if you do what’s right, He just loves you, period. And that’s how we should love others too. Godly love always perseveres.
When Jesus was killed, He asked the Father to forgive his murderers. And if He, the One True Judge of all the universe, can love even the people who killed Him, we can also love our “enemies.” There is no one who God doesn’t love. No matter who you are, what you’ve done, what you’re doing, or what you will do, God loves you! And it’s because of His love for us that we should love others. If God loves the people that we have a hard time loving, we should do our best to love them too even when it’s really hard. Godly love always perseveres.
