Sometimes we think that God wants us to make big gestures for Him, as though that can make up for not walking with Him daily. If you mess up, it’s good to apologize, but that doesn’t mean that what you did was a good thing. Many people say that they would lay their life down for God But if you aren’t living for God, you certainly won’t be a martyr for Him. To lay your life down for God, you need to be a living sacrifice. Choosing God’s way instead of your own way and walking with God is what He wants from you. God doesn’t want empty promises, the sacrifice He wants from you is for you to be a living sacrifice.
Bible Verses:
- Romans 12:1-2 | Present your bodies as a living sacrifice.
- 1 Samuel 15:22 | Obedience is better than sacrifice.
- Micah 6:6-8 | What God really wants from us.
- Luke 9:23 | Deny yourself and follow Jesus.
Family Time Questions:
- What do you think it means to be a “living sacrifice”?
- Why is daily obedience to God more important than big gestures?
- What are some daily ways we can live for God?
- Why do you think God values our everyday choices and actions so much?
Prayer:
“Dear God, help us to understand the importance of being a living sacrifice for You. Guide us to prioritize obedience over grand gestures and to genuinely walk with You every day. Let our lives be a continuous offering to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
