Passover is usually considered to be a Jewish holiday, but there are many Christians who celebrate it! During Passover, we celebrate how God spared his people from his wrath and rescued them from Egypt. In the book of Exodus, before God sent the final plague to Egypt, He told the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb and to cover their doorposts with the blood of the lamb. God was going to bring his wrath upon every household in all of Egypt, but He would pass over any house marked with the blood of the lamb. The Israelites were told to celebrate Passover every year, and as Christians, we have even more to celebrate!
Just like the blood of the lamb protected the Israelites from the final plague that God brought on Egypt, the blood of Jesus protects us from eternal death; an eternity apart from God. The Israelites had to paint the blood of a lamb on their doorposts in order to be saved from the plague, but all we have to do in order to be saved from our sins is believe in Jesus Christ.
Passover Bible Verses:

- Luke 22:7-20 | The Last Supper

Family Time Questions:
• What were the Israelites told to celebrate during Passover?
• Why is it called Passover?
• Is it OK for Christians to celebrate Passover?
• What does it mean to say that Jesus is our Passover Lamb?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus to be our Passover Lamb. Help us to accept and remember your gift of salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
