Douglas made himself a fun little puppet named Zamboni. Douglas made him just the way he wants him. He made him to perform little puppet shows for the neighbor kids, and tell them funny stories. Zamboni has silly hair, silly eyes, and a silly nose, so he’s perfect for silly shows! As Douglas was making Zamboni, he realized that, just like Zamboni was handcrafted by Douglas, we were handcrafted by God. And just like Zamboni was made out of simple materials like a sock, some ping pong balls, and feathers, we were also made out of something simple. God made Adam, the first human, out of dirt!
You are God’s handiwork. God made everyone. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. God made each of us with a purpose, and He loves us very much. God loves you just the way you are, because you were made just the way God wanted you! Zamboni would not work very well for serious puppet shows, but he’s great for silly shows, because that’s what he was made for. None of us is good at everything, but all of us are good at something! No matter who you are, God has given you gifts, abilities, and opportunities that He wants you to use to make the world a better place.
