Every Christian is a soldier in the kingdom of God. But we are not called to fight like the world fights. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, it is against the dark, spiritual forces of this world. Our battle is against Satan, not the people he uses against us. A good Christian soldier does not seek to destroy those who call themselves God’s enemies. Instead, we are called to bring them to Jesus. And share with them the good news that Christ died for them while they were still his enemies. We don’t win by matching insult with insult or violence with violence; we win when we show the world the love of Jesus Christ. Let’s be good Christian soldiers and share the good news of Jesus through our words and actions.

Bible Verses:

  • Ephesians 6:12 – Not against flesh and blood
  • 1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight
  • 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 – Spiritual weapons
  • 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 – Nothing without love

Family Time Questions:

  • What does it mean to be a soldier in the kingdom of God?
  • What are some ways that the world fights against Christians?
  • How should we respond when people are unkind to us?
  • Does God care about those who call themselves His enemies?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for Your incredible love for us. Please help us to fight for You as good Christian soldiers by showing the world the love of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
