There are many examples in Scripture of God calling someone to something very specific. Like Noah being called to build the ark, Moses called to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Paul called to be an apostle, to name a few. But you don’t need to wait for a specific or dramatic calling like these to answer God’s calling for your life. In fact, you absolutely shouldn’t wait. The Bible is filled with instructions for how we are all called to live. God has called all of us to live for Him. And even if we don’t have directions as specific to our situation as Noah or Moses, we can all answer God’s calling for our lives by doing whatever we do to the glory of God.

Bible Verses:

  • Colossians 3:17 – Everything in the name of Jesus
  • 1 Corinthians 7:17 – Bloom where you are planted
  • 1 Corinthians 10:31- All to the glory of God
  • 1 Peter 4:10-11 – Serve God with varied gifts
  • 1 Peter 1:14-16 – Called to be holy

Family Time Questions:

  • What are some things that God has called all of us to do?
  • Are we all supposed to be pastors or missionaries?
  • How long should you wait for God’s calling for your life?
  • How can you live for God right here and now?

Prayer:

“Dear God, thank You for Your calling for our lives. Please help us to honor you in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
