We should always trust God, but it can be hard sometimes. There are several passages in Scripture where Jesus tells people not to doubt, but in most of those passages, He is also very patient with those who doubt. One of the times that we should be very careful not to doubt is when we are looking to God for wisdom. God has given us wisdom in Scripture. The Bible is God’s word, and it’s for everyone. But even though God gives the wisdom freely, if we doubt Him and disregard what we don’t like, we have not received that wisdom. Believe in God, and believe that what God says is true. Don’t doubt.
Bible Verses:
- James 1:5-8 – Don’t doubt
- Mark 9:14-29 – “Help my unbelief”
- Matthew 14:28-33 – Peter doubted
- John 20:24-29 – Doubting Thomas
Family Time Questions:
- Is God patient with us when we feel doubt?
- What are some ways that God shares His wisdom with us?
- Who does God give wisdom to?
- Who should not expect to receive wisdom from God?
Prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for giving us Your word. Please help us not to doubt, so that we can receive Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
