Babies complain a lot, but we’re not babies! God wants us to do everything without grumbling or complaining! Douglas’ cousin had a new baby, and she was so cute… at first. But when she started to get a little bit older, she started to cry a lot more. Babies don’t have any way to deal with, or communicate, what’s making them unhappy. So they cry and cry. But we don’t need to complain like a baby, we can have a good attitude! Whether it’s chores or homework or whatever we have to do that makes us grumpy, we can have a good attitude. Nothing was ever made better by having a bad attitude, but many things can be made better with a good attitude!
Bible Verses About Not Complaining:
- Philippians 2:14-15 | “Do everything without grumbling or complaining,”
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18 | Don’t complain. Instead, give thanks!
- 1 Peter 4:9 | Being nice, but complaining about it, is not being nice
- 2 Corinthians 9:7 | “God loves a cheerful giver.”
Family Time Questions About Not Complaining:
• What’s something in your life that makes you want to complain?
• Would complaining make it better?
• Why doesn’t God want us to complain?
• What’s something that you can remember to help you have a good attitude?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for your incredible kindness towards me. Please help me to do everything without grumbling or complaining. In Jesus’ name, amen.
