Sin brings death, it has separated us from God. There is nothing that we could do to fix that ourselves. We need life, and Christ came to the world to give us eternal life if we will only believe in Him. We were once dead in our sin. But, through Jesus, we can be dead TO our sin instead! Only Jesus can bring life to the dead, sin can only bring death. So if you are alive in Christ and dead to sin, that means that sin has no hope to have claim over you ever again. Sin separated you from God, we can have life through Jesus Christ. If you believe in Jesus, you are dead to sin, and no amount of sin can undo that. If you are dead to sin, live like it! Jesus can give you life and help you live life to the fullest.
Bible Verses:
- Romans 6:11 – Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
- Galatians 2:20 – Crucified With Christ
- Colossians 3:3 – You Have Died, Your Life Is Hidden With Christ
- Romans 6:7-8 – Free From Sin
Family Time Questions:
- What kinds of death can sin bring?
- What does it mean to be dead to sin?
- What must you do to have eternal life?
- Can your sin undo what Christ has done for you?
Prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for rescuing us from our sin and giving us life in Your Name. Help us to count ourselves as dead to sin and alive in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
