Satan wants us to be worried about looking silly. God wants us to live with confidence! It might seem like confident people are the people who know how to do everything well. As though being confident meant that you knew you would never make a mistake. But it’s almost exactly the opposite! Confidence doesn’t come from never looking silly, it comes from knowing that it’s OK to look a little silly. If you’re not willing to try something that you’re not good at, then you’ll never get good at anything! Whether it’s something good, but not that important, like dancing, or something incredibly important, like sharing your faith, we only improve through practice. Live your life and serve God with confidence.
Bible Verses:
- Mark 10:18 – Only God is truly good.
- Ephesians 6:12 – Our battle is spiritual.
- Romans 3:10 – No one is righteous.
- Matthew 5:44 – Love your enemies.
- James 4:12 – God is the only judge.
Family Time Questions:
- Why is God the only real Good Guy?
- What can happen if we think too highly of “good guys”
- How should we treat people we might think of as “bad guys”?
- Why is it important not to judge others as good or bad?
- Should we try to stop “bad guys” from doing bad things?
Prayer:
“Dear God, help us remember that only You are truly good. Please help us not to think too highly of “good guys” and to remember that even “bad guys” are worthy of love. Help us to see the world through your eyes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
