Christmas may not look the same at your house as it does at my house. There are so many different Christmas traditions around the world, and even around your own neighborhood! If we are not careful, Christmas traditions can sometimes get in the way of what’s most important during the Christmas season. But they can also be a great way to point our attention towards Jesus. He is the reason for the season! One of the things that is so cool about Jesus is that He came to save the whole world. People who look different and sound different, and eat different kinds of foods. He came to save us all! And we can all, in so many different ways, celebrate Christmas around the world.
Bible Verses:
- Matthew 1-2 – The Birth of Jesus
- Luke 1-2 – The Birth of Jesus
- John 3:16 – God so loved the world
- Psalm 98:2-4 – “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth”
Family Time Questions:
- What does Christmas look like for your family?
- What are some other Christmas traditions you’ve heard of?
- Can Christmas traditions get in the way of what’s most important?
- How can they point us to Jesus?
Prayer:
“Dear God, thank You for loving the whole world and sending us Your Son. Please help us remember that He is the reason for the season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
